Oktapodi - a beautiful CG animated short

How great is this short animated film about an octopus car chase by some French animation students?

Warning: It’s 60mb but worth every byte.

Ojingogo Book Release

Here’s the Ojingogo book that’s coming out at the end of the month. It’s a few years late - but I’m very happy with it and very excited to for everyone to see it.

Here’s the Facebook Event page for Montreal book release party.

There will also be events in Toronto and Halifax in September.

You should come and bring some friends too.

Drawing Fish

Here’s another cover element from the Ojingogo book cover.

I decided not to use this fish. It’s too big and clunky for the space I needed it for. But I still like it so I wanted to post it.

I love drawing fish. No matter how crazy and wild you imagine them to be, the ocean always has more interesting species. And their faces have such character and expression. Something straddling the line between horror and confusion.

Here are some sketches I did in a fish market in Morocco last month.

Cover Progress

Playing with different and elements colour schemes for the Ojingogo book cover.

Some people seem to think this is the whole cover. Nope, it’s just a corner illustration from the inside fold-over.

I posted this over on my blog - but I’ve got to get in the habit of keeping Ojingogo stuff over here!

Welcome (back) to Ojingogo

Welcome to the world of Ojingogo, a comic by me - Matt Forsythe.

I started this comic four years ago while living in Korea. That was before fancy comic-blogging software existed, so I used to write every new HTML page by hand.

Anyway, those days are over and I can finally post all the Ojingogo comics easily and in one place so here they are.

I’ll be updating every week. Sometimes more frequently. Sometimes less. So please subscribe to the RSS feed to make sure we can keep in touch.
