Matrioshkas for the New Year

I’m researching Russian images for my new comic and fancied painting some matrioshka dolls.

Also, there’s an interview with me over at The Comics Reporter today re: Ojingogo. Tom Spurgeon’s blog is a daily visit for me, so it was a pleasure to answer his very thoughtful questions.

Here’s to 2009… Happy new year.

I met Julia at Expozine last year. I love her fun illustrations. That awesome panda over there is her character.

You can see a gallery of finished illustrations here or a see a bunch of my sketches over here.

And here are some of my favourite Montreal-related posts:

CBC Interview – Ojingogo

cbc_radio_logo.jpgCBC Montreal interviewed me a few months ago about Ojingogo on their Weekend arts morning show, All in a Weekend.

I was hoping to talk more about comics in general but the show host, Anna Asimakopoulos, was very focused on Ojingogo. We talked a bit about Korea, Squid, Hangeul (the Korean script), and my pal, Vanessa.

I also have some fun news about Ojingogo in the coming months. But in the mean time, I’m very nearly finished the 25th instalment! They seem to be taking longer and longer to do).
