Gocco printing madness

gocco-madness.jpg

We finally broke out the Gocco printer last night and made some prints. Gocco is the name of a Japanese home-printing system which is a household name in Japan and a cult obsession in the rest of the world. I posted a small gallery of the print session over at my Flickr site.

I have one set of bulbs left - which is good for one more exposure.* We’re going to print up another batch of prints tonight. The prints will be for sale this weekend at my table at the MoCCA art festival in New York and then afterwards in my shop!

*Gocco bulbs are not re-usable. You use them once and then throw them away. It’s heartbreaking and beyond stressful. I have no idea where I can replenish my supply. Help me Gocco-wan, you’re my only hope. To make matters worse - Riso discontinued the Gocco line in 2005.

SAVE GOCCO.

Hi Matt…

Wet Paint Art in St. Paul, MN is the world’s greatest art supply store… they still have Gocco supplies galore, thank goodness. Here are the bulbs:

Ah, I should have known — I order my G-nibs from Wet Paint.

Thanks, Steve!

I went to the gocco website, and it doesn’t say anywhere on there that they are not producing the products anymore. There is even a search engine that shows where gocco products are near you.

Great prints. Wish I could get my hands on one of these Goccos myself. I’ve heard that they’re hard to get, but not impossible. Just found your blog…keep up the great work.
