Sketches from RoCoCoCamp

RoCoCoCamp is a conference for wiki people. I’m not sure what the “Rococo-” means; I think it is a French acronym.
There was no agenda. No kidding. People just wrote what they wanted to talk about on pieces of paper and stuck them to a wall which had area numbers on it. Then you go to the area where people are talking about what you are interested in.
If you are not learning from or contributing to the discussion, you are obliged to leave the discussion. This is called the law of two feet. It’s pretty cool. I am going to start using the law of two feet at regular conferences. I’m sick of being stuck in a room, forced to listen to someone’s sales pitch. More on Open Space philosophy.
I met the founder of wikiHow. That was pretty cool.

the first drawing is great
whenever i see people typing on their laptop at a session like this, i have the feeling they are in their own “out-of-this-world” space. its like they just happen to be there in the group - but their mind is not.

RoCoCo is a variation on RCC (Recent Changes Camp) — Recent Changes refers to a link that always appears on Wikis allowing visitors to see the recent contributions to the Wiki by various people — RoCoCo also stands for RencOntre sur la COllaboration, la Créativité et l’autOgestion. Enjoy !
The last drawing is the one I prefer.
