Montreal Disney Exhibition round-up
Here’s a summary of the press preview of the Disney exhibition I attended this morning.
You can read about it here - or just head straight to the Flickr photoset of the event.
UPDATE: For more in-depth commentary on the exhibit, check out Zeke’s Gallery, a Montreal art blog.
This is just a vinyl toy in the shop on the way in - but it looked cool so I snapped a photo.
This part of the exhibit was almost subversive in its implications. It showed how early Disney films had copied their material shot for shot from popular cinema of the time. This is a shot of Disney’s, The Pet Store (left) playing beside King Kong (right).

The Mary Blair gouache concept art was the highlight for me. I think these were character designs for Sleeping Beauty.
Check out the entire Flickr photoset from the exhibition (50 photos).
