Linda Linda Linda

Linda Linda Linda was playing at the Nouveau World Film Festival in Montreal a couple weeks ago and I have to say I loved it. The slow, meandering pace may turn off some viewers but on the whole it’s a hugely satisfying film. Also, the soundtrack (by James Iha) is really cool; it layers the same percussive and emotive guitars and bass that first made the Smashing Pumpkins famous.
The film also features Bae Doo Na (Take Care of My Cat, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance) as a Korean exchange student. She somehow looks ten years younger (and significantly more awkward) in this role. I didn’t even recognize her with all the pimples until the credits went up.
Also, I challenge anyone who sees this film to try and get the title song out of their head within a week.
