Sartorialism
by matt
A Sartorialist sketch from last night.
Went to see Shortbus a couple nights ago, and it was brilliant. There’s something very therapeutic about watching hard-core gay sex in a theatre packed with middle-aged couples. The movie turned the audience upside-down and shook the change out of our pockets. It had the complete opposite effect as Sarah Polley’s, Away From Her – which did its best to lull the geriatric audience to sleep with its glib platitutes about Alzheimers. It felt more like a two-hour insurance commercial.
Unrelated: The Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2007 was announced this week, which is beyond awesome motivation for printing as much stuff as possible.
Update: Miya’s posted a side-by-side on her blog. Kinda neat – highlights especially how I failed to capture any life in the legs. Ugh…

at the sartorialist? why, what’s there?
Gorgeous illustration!
I saw Short Bus last week… Definitely worth it, but I thought they could have played up the comedic element.
But who cares- I’m entranced by your drawing. Love her face tucked into her scarf. Have you sent it to Scott (The Sartorialist)?
