I know it looks like I’m in London. But I’m not, I’m actually still in Montreal.

Director, Todd Haynes and his crew took over my neighbourhood yesterday to film some shots for the Bob Dylan biopic, I’m Not There. I sat on my steps and watched Cate Blanchett (who lost a bunch of weight to play an eerily convincing young Dylan) as she ran in and out of a Rolls Royce. Probably replicating this scene from Dylan’s life.

Later, I went outside to post a letter and the mailbox was gone. There was an old British-looking mailbox in its place. The streets were empty, with the exception for people standing around in period dress. Strangely, I couldn’t see any cameras or crew anywhere. Just these extras in 60s-era clothing, looking at the ground.

It was like the Twilight Zone.
