The Fearsome Fifteen
I just had a browse through the American Film Institute’s Top 100 films of all time and I noticed that there are only sixteen I haven’t seen.
It is with great shame that I list these (my father nearly disowned me when I told him I hadn’t seen #18), but I’ll steadily cross them off over the coming weeks:
8. On The Waterfront
10. Singin’ in the Rain
13. Bridge on the River Kwai
17. The African Queen
18. Psycho
27. Bonnie and Clyde
37. The Best Years of Our Lives
38. Double Indemnity
39. Doctor Zhivago
44. The Birth of a Nation
52. From Here to Eternity
62. Tootsie
63. Stagecoach
28. An American in Paris
79. The Deer Hunter
100. Yankee Doodle Dandy
UPDATE: My buddy, Pete, corrects me in comments: “we watched the deer hunter in grade 11 at my house. Ok….I see how easy it is for you to forget.” Only fifteen left then…

You’re doing better than me — I have 33 left to see (I share all but 5 of your unseens). And yes, go see Psycho now!

33? I don’t believe it. I know you have a list-fetish just like me so I’m heading over to your site now to see if you posted which ones. (It’s a very humbling experience).

I just want object to the depiction of the giant chicken in the above illustration. Please be reminded that giant chickens are proprietary to KFC frenchfries, er, franchise . You’ll be hearing from our attorneys
