BBC’s Bleak House

Just finished watching BBC’s brilliant adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House. The series was divided into 15 wonderful episodes, starring Gillian Anderson (Lady Dedlock), Denis Lawson (John Jarndice), and Charles Dance (Mr Tulkinghorn - what great names Dickens used!).

Throughout the series, I felt a mysterious and profound love and respect for Denis Lawson, but was unsure why. Of course, when I was finished viewing all the episodes, I made the requisite trip to IMDB and discovered the source of this affection. John Jarndice was Denis Lawson, of course, was Wedge Antilles from Empire Strikes Back and ROTJ.

I see it, Wedge! Good work!

I think you’ll find he was in all THREE original films. I seem to recall him as having the distinction of being the only non-main character to survive the trilogy (considering that means taking on TWO Death Stars, that’s saying something!)
