The ‘special preview edition’ of Ojingogo won ‘Best English Comic’ at the Expozine awards on Wednesday night. I’m shown here receiving the award from Jean Giscagne, who did an admirable job of hosting the celebration in both French and English.

It was a bit of a shock to win the award but it was a real honour and very exciting and all that. Billy Mavreas is doing really great things for the world of small press in Montreal and beyond with Expozine.

The event was a blast. See more photos here. Montreal’s premiere lip-synch band, Never Surrender played and I picked up a copy of Anders Nilsen’s gorgeous comic, Big Questions No.8 (D&Q), at a discounted price.

Incidentally, the ‘special preview edition’ of Ojingogo is now sold out. Thanks to everyone who bought a copy; it was a real privelege to send the books to all the far-flung addresses around the world.
